Labyrinths
Labyrinths are an ancient worship tools meant to help faith practitioners experience embodied prayer—bringing the body into the practice of praying. They symbolize many things including faith as a journey, persevering, and the dynamic movement and changing of directions in a vibrant, healthy spirituality. The following resources have a great deal of information should you be interested in exploring labyrinths.
Praying the shema
The Shema is a prayer not well-established within modern Christianity; however, it is biblical and traditional to our Jewish brothers and sisters. It comes from Deuteronomy 6:4-9 and is often recited twice a day—at morning and at night—with space to breathe, listen, and respond. To learn more about this prayer, click the following links.
Lectio Divina
Lectio Divina means “divine reading” and is a way of combining Scripture, prayer, and reflection as a way of interacting with the Divine through Christianity’s holy text. Many resources exist concerning this ancient way of reading the Bible; the following are some of our favorites.
Enneagram
Part of worshiping God “in spirit and in truth” is discovering the self. The Enneagram is an ancient spiritual tool meant to help people discover themselves and, in doing so, find peace, comfort, and understanding in how they relate to God and others in the world. Discover your Enneagram identity and learn how you can more fully lean into the Divine with authenticity and self-awareness.
